Oracle Debuts Drug-Tracking App for Big Pharma

Big pharmaceutical companies have a lot to keep track of. The prospect of recalls, counterfeit drug shipments or an outbreak of a health emergency in a distant corner of the globe puts a premium on real-time information about the movement of drugs across their supply chain.

In response to that need, Oracle has developed it Pedigree and Serialization Manager, an application for big pharma that creates and stores records of each pharmaceutical as it passes through the supply chain. Datamation takes a look.


Oracle this week rolled out Oracle Pedigree and Serialization Manager, an application that it claims will make it easier for large drug companies to track and monitor pharmaceutical products throughout the supply chain for business and compliance purposes.

Whether it’s a drug recall, a surge in counterfeit medications or an emergency that requires a mass shipment of vaccine to a particular part of the world, large pharmaceutical manufacturers need to have instantaneous access to accurate drug information throughout their supply chain.
