VMware Ramps Virtualization Acquisitions

  • VMware is fleshing out its vCenter management portfolio with a pair of acquisitions as it looks to the next phase of virtualization, what it describes as “IT as a service.”

    The purchase of Integrien figures to give VMware better analytics capabilities that could translate into real-time intelligence. Meantime, with the acquisition of TriCipher, VMware gains tools to strengthen identity federation, SaaS authentication and access management. Datamation has the details.


    Seeking to round out its offerings in preparation for what it describes as the “third phase” of virtualization — IT as a service — VMware on Tuesday announced that it would acquire IT analytics firm Integrien and online access management and security firm TriCipher.

    Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
