Microsoft’s SharePoint and Office productivity suite are indispensable tools for many businesses, but couldn’t they work better together?

Workshare thinks so, and has begun shipping a tool that aims to more closely integrate the two packages.

Dubbed Workshare Point, the new product enables users to access the document management collaboration features provided in SharePoint from within Office applications, including Microsoft Outlook.

“Workshare Point provides seamless e-mail and document management between Outlook and SharePoint,” said Workshare’s Kevin Docherty. “It allows you to never have to leave Outlook.”

SharePoint briefing has the details on the new offering from Workshare.
