ASP Partnership Expands Tech Services

Application utility company FutureLink
Corp.
Friday forged a long-term deal with hardware specialist Spectrant LLC.

FutureLink will be responsible for building, hosting,
and maintaining Spectrant’s network servers for the next three years.

Spectrant plans to leverage FutureLink’s application delivery expertise to
improve internal access to its widely used SalesLogix software. FutureLink
will also provide ASP delivery of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Exchange and Internet Explore to Spectrant.

FutureLink’s partnership with Spinnaker Network Solutions LLC
facilitated the deal that provides outsourced business solutions to clients
like Spectrant.

Spinnaker is a customer relationship management application provider and
one of FutureLink’s first channel partners. Spinnaker leverages
FutureLink’s ASP delivery model to deliver its business-critical software
applications.

Roy Wirrick, Spectrant president, said the ASP delivery model is the best
way to broaden its market share.

“Spectrant is dedicated to helping businesses communicate and obtain
information easily and inexpensively,” Wirrick said. “We believe the ASP
model is an excellent method for accomplishing this.”

Mitch Cannady, Spinnaker president, said the association with FutureLink
allows it to focus on core services.

“While most IT departments are stretched too thin to support multiple
software applications or high-level networking activity, our partnership
with FutureLink helps to eliminate these issues for our clients,” Cannady
said.

FutureLink charges a flat fee for its subscription-based access to software
applications. It provides ASP services for standardized and customized
applications exclusively through a network of more than 75 channel partners
comprised of independent software vendors and system integrators.

FutureLink reported $33.6 million in second quarter sales, of which $1
million was attributed to its ASP services. FutureLink also reported that
it serves 68 ASP customers in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
