BEA Allies With Andersen

BEA Systems, Inc. , the San Jose, Calif.-based provider of application infrastructure software and Andersen, the integrated professional services firm, today announced a strategic alliance to speed-up the deployment of WebLogic, BEA’s standards-based e-business platform.

Andersen will provide Built-on-BEA solutions and leverage WebLogic’s commerce, portal, integration and Web Services capabilities to help companies looking to conduct complex transaction processing, and to integrate Web-based enterprise and e-business applications.

“Global companies, many of which are dealing with merger/acquisition activity, require a technology solution that can offer disparate systems integration, speed to market, high scalability and lower overall costs,” says Rick Turner, Andersen partner and co-leader of the BEA alliance.

“Andersen’s alliance with BEA complements our strategic emphasis on the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) platform and enables us to build customized solutions that ensure client needs, critical processes and underlying technology architectures are in alignment,” he continues.

BEA says WebLogic will provides Andersen with a reliable application infrastructure enabling the firm to accelerate its delivery of solutions for enterprises with Web-based revenue models.

John Gray, BEA vice president of global strategic alliances says the firm is please to be assisting Andersen in its goal of delivering enterprise solutions and believes it is the start of an ongoing alliance: “Our continued collaboration will broaden the options available to organizations seeking best-of-breed solutions from a world-leading professional services firm.”

Both firms have also agreed to collaborate on marketing the alliance and plan to expand current programs for training those Andersen employees working with the WebLogic Platform.

And as a part of this alliance, BEA, Andersen, together with enterprise content management solution provider, Stellent Inc. , will co-host a series of seminars to assist companies deploying enterprise portals.
