Demonstrating its success in the growing online services industry, software giant Oracle Corp.
, today announced new customer wins for Oracle E-Business Suite Online.
New customers of the software, delivered as an online service that Oracle says helps companies simplify business operations and reduce IT costs, include Karl Suss, a global supplier of manufacturing equipment and process technology for the advanced packaging, microelectronics and micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) markets.
The firm will use Oracle to standardize its financial and manufacturing business processes.
“Oracle’s online services will enable us to maximize the power of the Oracle software, increase productivity and lower costs all on a global scale,” says Dana Potter, director of IT for Karl Suss.
“With Oracle, we will have more information to shorten close cycles and facilitate optimum decision making, enabling us to improve profitability.”
Peach Direct, a provider of Web-enabled TV technology and services chose to deploy Oracle applications as an online service so the company could eliminate the need for in-house technical expertise and costly hardware and software.
Peach Direct says it expects the Oracle solution to be up and running within 60 days.
Ron Drori, president for Peach Direct says: “By automating and integrating all of our business processes from account processing to order fulfillment and shipping, we will be able to significantly reduce operating costs and execute our business in the most efficient manner possible, enabling us to go-to-market much more quickly.”
Infinity Pharmaceuticals, MedUnite, e-Travel and Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals are also among the customers that purchased Oracle E-Business Suite Online during Q1.
Oracle says it has also seen increased momentum for its customer relationship management (CRM) online services, sales.oracle.com and support.oracle.com, with more than 15,000 customers using CRM online services to help manage their business.
In addition, the firm reports that Boston Medical Technologies, Inc., Convergent Resources, Maple Optical Systems, Inc., Nuance, Smartsynch, Virtual Ink and Yipes Communications chose to renew their contracts for Oracle E-Business Suite Online during Q1.
