CA, webMethods Announce Alliance

Jul 10, 2001

Computer Associates International, Inc. , and webMethods, Inc. are forming an alliance to develop a connection between CA’s Unicenter infrastructure management solution and the webMethods integration platform. Unicenter is CA’s family of integrated e-business infrastructure management solutions that monitor and manage the critical platforms, hardware and software that support the extended enterprise.

The webMethods integration platform will tie together applications and systems throughout the extended enterprise, within companies and with trading partners over the Internet. The collaboration between the Fairfax, Va.-based webMethods and Computer Associates will provide the capability to manage these connected systems from one central interface.

“The combination of Computer Associates and webMethods brings the next generation of management to massive networks of multiple organizations, suppliers, partners, marketplaces, service providers and customers,” said Dave Hinman, vice president of Technology Alliances at webMethods. “By having the Unicenter infrastructure management solution connect to the webMethods integration platform, clients can now easily see the total health and the impact that changes have on their businesses, their partners and suppliers all the way across the value chain.”

Computer Associates will demonstrate Unicenter working together with the webMethods integration platform in Computer Associates’ Virtual Enterprise Centers globally. In addition, the companies will collaborate in joint marketing and sales activities.

Founded in 1976, the Islandia, NY-based CA serves organizations in more than 100 countries, including 99 percent of the Fortune 500 companies.
