Caching technology provider Mirror Image Internet and Cisco Systems, Inc. today signed an
agreement under which Mirror Image becomes a global reseller of Cisco’s
Cache Engine.

Terms of the agreement also call for the companies to jointly develop new
technologies and co-market the Cisco Cache Engine and Mirror Image Cache Management Services. Both products meet with the Internet Caching Protocol (ICP) standards.

“Mirror Image’s open Central Cache and innovative Cache Management Services, combined with the market’s most powerful cache appliances from Cisco, represent the indisputable best-of-breed solution for the next stage of the Internet’s growth,” said David Wu, president, Mirror Image Internet. “And with our worldwide sales network and installed base, Mirror Image can help extend these solutions into new markets.”

Mirror Image is a 2 year-old, Woburn, Massachusetts-based caching solutions
provider. Its Cache Management Service is based on two-tier architecture
designed to increase Net downloads, relieve bandwidth jams, and deliver
fresh content for clients, such as ISPs, backbone providers, and business
corporations.
