Conferencing for Windows XP Users

WebEx Communications Inc. , the San Jose, Calif. provider of Web-based interactive communications infrastructure, today announced the availability of its conference services for users of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.

The WebEx network, designed specifically for interactive Web-based communications will be accessible to Windows XP users, who can start a Pay-Per-Use WebEx conference from within XP’s Windows Messenger feature.

“WebEx’s business conferencing services will enhance the capabilities of Windows XP,” says Shawn Sanford, group product manager of Windows XP at Microsoft Corp.

Praful Shah, vice president of strategic marketing at WebEx Communications says that by providing access to the WebEx network from Windows XP, users can easily start and participate in an interactive WebEx conference: “We have worked closely with Microsoft to make this integration seamless,” he says.

Founded in 1996, WebEx has more than 4,700 corporate customers and agreements with the world’s largest telecommunications providers. Its services are supported by WebEx’s global communication network, a switch-based network that runs parallel to the public network to offer scalability, reliability, security and performance.
