The tribe has spoken at Digital Island (Nasdaq: ISLD) and the live streaming media host Tuesday named two executives that the company says will help keep the company a survivor.
The San Francisco-based company says Christina (CJ) Stumpf is now the company chief technical officer (CTO), while Adam Cohen is at the helm as chief media officer.
Stumpf most recently served as the CIO for GTE’s Global Network Infrastructure (now Genuity Corp.), where she was responsible for international business IT.
“As we continue to gain leverage from our pending merger with Cable & Wireless, CJ will help drive the significant opportunity we have to become the leading provider of advanced business-enabling services on the Internet,” says Digital Island chairman and CEO Ruann Ernst. “Despite today’s market challenges, Digital Island continues to add technology leadership and business acumen and we are excited to welcome someone of CJ’s caliber to our team.”
Cohen, meantime, who had been serving as vice president of Media Services, has expanded his role to include the overall vision and strategy of Digital Island’s Media Services business.
Before coming to Digital Island, Cohen was founder and CEO of New York-based Live On Line, which was founded in 1995 and acquired by Digital Island in January of 2000.
