eAppealSolutions Gets $2.5M Funding

New York-based Scientia Health Group Limited on Wednesday announced it had invested $2.5 million into eAppealSolutions, Inc., an
online appeals processing company for the healthcare industry.

eAppealSolutions markets Web-based technology that converts a user’s
previously entered medical claim into an electronic format and files an
appeal applying applicable state and federal rules.

The company said the new money would be used to fund sales and marketing initiatives for 2002

Since its launch in January last year, the company more than 50 clients nationwide have begun processing medical insurance appeals online through its technology. EAppealSolutions collects a flat transaction fee for each appeal processed.

Clients include hospitals and businesses such as Advantage Billing,
Alliance One, Chartwell, Medibillers, Team Health and WebMD Transaction
Services.
