Epicor Adds Microsoft CRM to Repertoire

Why settle for offering one customer relationship management (CRM) product when you can offer two — especially when the second option bears a Microsoft logo?

Epicor Software Corp. , an Irvine, Calif.-based independent software vendor (ISV) that offers a suite of small and medium enterprise applications, today announced an agreement with Microsoft Business Solutions naming it a Microsoft CRM authorized partner.

Under terms of the agreement, Epicor will implement and support Microsoft CRM as well as its own CRM software. Epicor reports that it currently has more than 3,000 CRM customers

“Epicor’s extensive experience in developing, implementing and supporting customer relationship management solutions will provide customers with integration and implementation services that will maximize the return on their investment,” said David Thacher, general manager of Customer Relationship Management at Microsoft Business Solutions, in a statement released by Epicor.

Epicor reports that while it will continue to deliver CRM solutions to small and mid-size enterprise, the agreement with Microsoft Business Solutions will allow it to broaden its reach to to customers of Microsoft CRM.

“[Our] CRM expertise will allow us to work with Microsoft Business Solutions to ensure customers always receive a CRM solution that matches their technology needs and their budgets,” said Doug Berry, vice president and general manager of Epicor’s Clientele Group. “Epicor will add value to Microsoft CRM through its product expertise, support and knowledge of the industry.”

The agreement also allows Epicor to extend the features and functionality of Microsoft CRM through integration of its Clientele CRM suite, including Epicor’s most recent offering Clientele eMarketing.

Clientele eMarketing is designed to allows users to design and deploy targeted e-mail campaigns that help streamline business processes, increase marketing productivity, improve communication, and drive sales and profits.

Epicor lays claim to being the first company to deliver a CRM solution architected from ground up on the Microsoft .NET framework. Because both Epicor’s Clientele CRM solutions and Microsoft CRM have been built upon Microsoft’s .NET technologies, Epicor said they can offer small and mid-size businesses flexibility and scalability.
