Event411.com Inc., an ASP that provides online meeting planning solutions, today announced that it has acquired MeetUP.com and will incorporate its housing reservation and hotel block management services into the Event411.com suite of meeting planning tools.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The acquisition is the first since Event411.com closed a $16 million second round of financing last month.
Event411.com offers meeting management and productivity enhancement solutions for simplifying, organizing and planning the logistics of complex meetings and events. The combined solutions of Event411.com and MeetUP.com provide the technology to manage meeting planning’s two most difficult tasks — registration and housing — via a client’s own corporate intranet or website.
Meeting attendees can now make a number of arrangements online in one step. They can register for an event, compare room prices, amenities and real-time availability of blocked hotel rooms, and can securely book, modify or cancel room reservations at the hotel of their choice. At the same time, hotels can now receive booking data instantly via electronic means and can also issue their confirmation numbers back to their guests using the application, thereby reducing communications costs.
Designed to be integrated into customer sites, Event 411.com’s proprietary tools, which can be licensed individually or in packages, allow users to exchange information, automate logistics, register for events and promote event-related merchandising.
