Cable & Wireless Move to ASP

[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Cable & Wireless Optus has signed a
MoU with application developer e-Business Australia proposing an ASP
reseller agreement for the e-tivity Time Control Web Application.

Under the proposed agreement Cable & Wireless Optus will host and rent
the e-tivity TimeControl application to its customers.

e-tivity TimeControl is a workflow application which creates business
efficiencies by empowering executives and managers with the ability to
proactively control and track work and time spent against budgets on all
tasks performed.

The product has been developed in Australia using Microsoft “DNA
Architecture”, and built from the ground up as an ASP B2B application.
The memorandum shows the desire of an Australian telecommunications provider
to host a market leading ASP application, developed in Australia by
e-Business Australia.

E-Business said the deal sets a precedent for the future success of ASP
business models, putting business applications within reach of small and
large enterprises without the upfront investment and ongoing costs of
traditional applications, which need to be installed within an
organisation’s computers. The company said it has a very positive response
from both small and large organizations since the launch of e-tivity
TimeControl in June.

Organizations have been particularly receptive to the application
understanding the ASP model saves money by eliminating the need to purchase
copies of software and to maintain periodic upgrades. Until the end of
September e-Business Australia is offering discounts to e-tivity TimeControl
to pre-release customers as they continue to build additional product
functionality.

e-Business Australia will market e-tivity TimeControl through its Partner
Program and is currently seeking additional reseller partners.
