Nexsi Systems, a network infrastructure solutions provider, Monday said it inked a deal that is bringing John McFarlane onboard as the San Jose-based company’s CEO.
Prior to the deal, McFarlane served as an executive VP at Palo Alto-based networking giant Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq: SUNW).
“A CEO of John’s stature, who is intimately familiar with the rigorous challenges of today’s service provider industry, underscores the core value Nexsi offers its customers,” says Nexsi chairman Atiq Raza. “John will be an invaluable asset to the company, and his background fits perfectly with Nexsi’s strategy and long-term goals.”
Nexsi specializes in networking and computing technologies it calls Packet Service Routers that let service providers deploy high-bandwidth and other IP services. To date, the 170-person company has raised more than $110 million in financing from venture capital sources and corporate investors.
