HostLogic Announces Suite of Vertical SMB Applications

Florida-based Managed Application Provider HostLogic Inc.
this week announced the release of a set of industry-specific business solutions tailored for young, growing companies.

The LogicSuite of offerings includes preconfigured enterprise application packages from SAP, designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), technology companies, the chemical industry, and K-12 school systems. According to the company–which is one of the original seven mySAP.com application hosting partners–the turnkey packages contain “everything necessary to implement, access, maintain, and support enterprise software over the Internet.” They are provided at a flat monthly fee.

Aaron Lee, HostLogic’s Director of Marketing, told ASP News “Companies need a trusted business partner who truly understands their needs and the enterprise-class applications they rely on. A Managed Application Provider is distinct in it’s ability to provide a complete and intelligent enterprise application hosting solution.”

Despite the company’s claim that LogicSuite goes beyond generic solutions, one of the new products is in its own way generic. Young Enterprise is a hardware-software grouping designed to fully meet the needs of SMBs (small to medium size businesses), especially high-growth technology and service companies. YE bundles IBM Netfinity servers and Network Computers with SAP’s R/3 software solutions in a system designed to “integrate an organization’s business functions, reduce costs, improve business processes, and provide a foundation for e-commerce between suppliers, partners, and customers.”

Launched alongside Young Enterprise is a series of solutions tailored to specific industry segments. ItLogistix, for example, is a supply-chain management system aimed at high-tech hardware and software firms. MyChem@ICM is a customized application solution for the chemical industry. SchoolSmart is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system engineered for K-12 schools. Other modules will be released in the future.

In keeping with the basic ASP concept, HostLogic customers can lease the components – including hardware, where applicable – thus reducing the cost associated with purchase, installation, and maintenance of a technology platform.
