Web server firm Encanto Networks Inc. Tuesday
signed a deal with IBM Corp. to provide Internet access services for users of
Encanto’s Web servers.
The agreement calls for IBM’s Internet connection services to be integrated
with Encanto’s e.go Web servers, intended to provide small businesses
solutions for Web site hosting, Internet access, e-mail and e-commerce.
Encanto servers are designed to offer total Web functionality, including
security firewalls and software tools for Web site creation and
maintenance. They include e-mail accounts and Encanto’s InstantConnect
service, a unique service providing both Internet access and Web site
connection services.
InstantConnect will utilize IBM Internet connection services to provide more
than 500 local dial-in numbers for e.go users. These local dial-in numbers
will be integrated into the Encanto’s InstantConnect Service e.go
installation program for a highly
simplified, “one click” setup process for Internet access.
“IBM Internet connection services, well known for its high quality and
world-class support, will provide enormous value to e.go users,” said Bob
Frankenberg, Encanto’s president and chief executive officer.
“Encanto’s easy-to-use Web server products coupled with our award-winning
Internet access service offers a complete solution to help enable a small
business to become an e-business quickly and affordably,” said Jim Goetz,
IBM Global Services’ director of telecommunications for network services.
