Intacct, a Los Gatos, Calif-based accounting ASP, yesterday announced a strategic partnership with payroll services giant ADP.
The partnership marks the first integration of ADP’s Major Accounts payroll solutions with an online accounting system, Intacct reports.
As part of the Intacct-ADP partnership, Intacct will integrate its online General Ledger application with ADP’s Major Accounts payroll solutions, including PC Payroll for Windows and Pay eXpert for small-to-midsize companies with up to 999 employees.
Designed to automate the process of reconciling the general ledger against payroll expenses, the Intacct/ADP integration aims to automatically synchronize general ledger codes into payroll records and will provide application users with an option to allocate tax costs for small-to-midsize companies on a department-by-department basis, according to Intacct.
“The integration of the Intacct system with ADP’s Major Accounts payroll solutions will bring tremendous cost-efficiencies to both accountants and the small and midsize enterprises they serve,” said Intacct CEO, David C. Thomas.
This integration of ADP’s payroll suite with an online accounting solution will benefit from Intacct’s open-source programming framework and XML gateway, according to Intacct.
“We examined other Internet accounting offerings and found that Intacct’s system not only provides a strong solution designed for professionals, but employs the technology necessary to make integrations seamless and smooth,” said Rich Watson, ADP’s vice president of business development, E-Business.
The Intacct integration with ADP follows several application partnerships that integrate related services into Intacct’s core accounting offering. Those applications include payroll, CRM, online auditing and review, professional billing, expense reporting and human resource services.
