Intel Corp. Monday rolled out a new program that aims to turn Internet service providers into resellers of its products and services.
The Intel ISP Program will deliver server and networking equipment to Internet providers and application service providers as well as computer makers and resellers. Those partners will then sell these offerings to their business customers.
Intel said the solutions are designed to decrease equipment outages while allowing for a higher level of integration. In addition to servers, routers, hubs, switches and other networking products will be offered.
“ISPs are evolving from the traditional role of providing Internet access to becoming a one-stop shopping source for many new Internet-related applications, products and services, such as Web hosting and creation, e-commerce and customer premise equipment,” said Sean Maloney, senior vice president of Intel’s sales and marketing group.
“ISPs are like fingerprints; no two are alike. Each has different equipment and service needs. Under this program, the customer can choose the right level of integration and proper suppliers and channels.”
Intel will offer ISPs a variety of sales and marketing tools as well as training and a dedicated Web site. Financing and equipment leasing will also be available.
ISPs interested in registering for the program can find more information here.
