Interliant Scores Oracle Hat Trick

Interliant, Inc. Tuesday picked up
a pair of Dallas-based systems integrators to shore up its
Oracle-based service offerings.

Interliant acquired Interactive Software, Inc.
and Milestone Services,
Inc.
, two companies focussed on delivering Oracle services to private, public and non-profit business segments.

Interliant also deepened its business bond with Oracle Corp., becoming one of the first
to join its newly-launched Oracle Authorized Application Provider program – see related ASP News story on internetnews.com, Oracle Opens Enterprise Apps to ASPs, Jul 31st 2000.

As the result of joining Oracle’s elite ASP
distribution program, Interliant may immediately tap into a complete set of
hosted solutions and services rooted in Oracle applications. Interliant
plans to leverage Oracle’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer
relationship management (CRM) e-commerce solutions among its clients.

Herb Hribar, Interliant chief executive officer and president, said the
acquisitions and Oracle provider program would make the firm a
dominant player in the hosted ASP solutions market segment.

“The expertise of both companies, combined with Interliant’s global reach,
will provide our customers with unprecedented capabilities in implementing
Oracle solutions,” Hribar said.

Hribar added that the Dallas-based ASP duo made excellent additions to the
outsourcer’s service mix. Interliant has not previously had any experience of delivering Oracle applications.

“Both ISI and MSI are highly regarded for their expertise in providing
implementation and professional services capabilities on Oracle platforms,
a critical need customers are looking for today in solving their e-business
requirements,” Hribar said.

With the addition of the two companies’ extensive Oracle capabilities,
Interliant has built one of the ASP industry’s largest teams dedicated to
providing customers with Oracle platform services.

Kathy H. Blanck, MSI chief executive officer and president, said
Interliant’s reputation as a leading ASP and its commitment to expanding
its global reach were both factors in its decision to solidify the deal.

“With Interliant’s plans to offer hosted Oracle solutions, our customers
are the ultimate beneficiaries,” Blanck said. “We intend to develop ASP
solutions for our Oracle customer base, where demand for these types of
services has been increasing exponentially.”

Blanck added that MSI would continue to grow its core business under the
Interliant brand and tap into the ASP’s world-class backbone for application
transport.

Rickey J. Wynn, ISI chief executive officer and president, said its
customers should rest assured that the collective wisdom of the ASP troika
would deliver enhanced IT solutions.

“Interliant’s value-added service provider relationship with Oracle, and
its reputation as a leading global ASP, provides us with unprecedented new
opportunities to grow our business and better serve our customers,” Wynn said.

Oracle’s deal with Interliant stands out as another milestone in the
software developers business shift to get a grip on the ASP business model
as middleman that can deliver its enterprise applications to end users

Earlier this year it added Peoplesoft to its portfolio of ASP offerings when it acquired Peoplesoft application outsourcer reSource Partners. Interliant is also a close ASP ally of Microsoft. See related ASPnews.com story, Exchange to get ASP makeover, Mar 16th 2000
