Netopia Inc. and Epoch Internet recently formed a partnership to promote metered T1 Internet service and
routers to value added resellers.
Under the agreement, Netopia will offer its certified VARs the opportunity
to become Epoch Certified Internet Agents. ISPs who sign up for the program
will be able to offer their small and medium-sized business customers
high-speed broadband solutions with Netopia’s T1 Routers and Epoch’s
metered T1 service at reduced rates.
“This new promotion builds on a long and successful relationship between
Epoch and Netopia,” said Eric Martorano, Epoch Internet’s director of channel programs. “Netopia routers have proven very popular with our
customers, who appreciate their upgradeability, their ease of use and their
array of advanced routing and management features.”
Netopia, Inc. is a market leader in providing small, growing businesses
with their Internet presence. Netopia developed the world’s first SDSL
CSU/DSU (Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line Channel Service Unit/Data
Service Unit) earlier this year.
The Netopia hardware allows customers to adopt SDSL as their Internet
access technology, while still maintaining their existing routing
infrastructure. The no-new-router technology also allows ISPs to use the
same provisioning model for SDSL services to their customers.
Epoch’s metered T1 service offers small businesses the opportunity to gain
in both access speeds and bandwidth usage. The price plan is based on a
monthly flat rate and allows users to pay for only the bandwidth they use.
The development means that small businesses may now get DSL features in
areas where DSL is not yet available.
