Oracle Expands AppsWorld Online Content

If you’ve ever been to an Oracle conference, you know that they produce in-house content that the company later streams on their Web site.

So to feed the beast that is its applications user community, the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based software maker Thursday expanded its menu of content for Oracle AppsWorld Online.

The material on Oracle’s live AppsWorld conferences lets users, customers, partners and other Oracle-heads to access conference-type information year-round, 24 hours a day.

“AppsWorld Online is an ever-growing vehicle delivering the most useful information to all those interested in Oracle Applications,” says Oracle chief marketing officer Mark Jarvis. “The new content on the site will greatly expand upon the breadth of information available to the Oracle applications community as we look forward to growing both the live and online Oracle AppsWorld events.”

New features added to the online forum include: Radio Oracle Chats with Cliff Godwin and Simply Business – a monthly show featuring customers, analysts, partners and Oracle’s views on applications topics.

The site now has eleven new focus areas including Contracts, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Product Development, Project Management, Purchasing, Sales, Service, Supply Chain Management and Technology. Focus areas feature educational presentations submitted by Oracle users as well as by Oracle employees.

And then there’s the Small Business Developer Center – A resource where third-party developers, consultants, system integrators and technical professionals offer small businesses the power and connectivity previously only available to much larger organizations.

Membership in Oracle AppsNet is free and open to anyone interested in Oracle Applications products.

The next live Oracle AppsWorld conference is scheduled for January 13-16, 2002 in Amsterdam.
