PeopleSoft, Inc. the Pleasanton, Calif.-based ASP, yesterday announced plans for the global expansion of PeopleSoft eCenter, its application hosting solution, and that it has selected Hewlett-Packard Company to provide the technical operations, infrastructure and services to aid this growth.
Building on its success in North America, PeopleSoft says it has chosen HP Services to manage the people, process, and technology for eCenter’s technical operations.
The firm says its customers will benefit from a range of HP Services’ offerings, including desktop and network management, data security, high-level disaster recovery, and enterprise integration services.
“PeopleSoft eCenter has been a tremendous success in North America, contributing significant license and services revenue to the company. Expanding our industry leading solution globally will enable us to rapidly extend the success of this business without the associated infrastructure costs,” says Craig A. Conway, CEO and president of PeopleSoft.
“The PeopleSoft eCenter solution is a great example of empowering customers by giving them the ability to purchase computing as a service,” comments Ann Livermore, president of HP Services.
Says Stephen Graham, vice president of Global Software Partnering and Alliances with IDC: “PeopleSoft eCenter and HP Services are combining their individual core competencies — enterprise software and widely available infrastructure services, respectively. This solution directly targets evolving demand from ASP customers for flexible delivery backed by solid integration and support.”
