It is either someone’s worst nightmare, or the answer to their prayers: a Web site where information on personal reputations is available online.

Through a partnership between Los Angeles-based RepCheck Inc., the makers of this personal reputations database, and mobileStorm, a wireless applications developer, the site’s information will now be available over WAP-enabled mobile devices for faster access.

Today’s deal with mobileStorm furthers an ongoing relationship with the wireless developer to incorporate WAP-technology into the company’s current database structure that will provide instant information on the spot, where and when people need it most, according to Andrew Maltin, RepCheck’s founder and chief executive officer.

“We believe this will help individuals make informed decisions to either move forward in a relationship with confidence, or steer clear of a potentially unsavory character, ” said Maltin. “This is a great way for RepCheck to expand its services to help the general public access reputation information whenever and wherever it is most convenient.”

Intended for employers, financial services, realtors, home service providers, and anyone else who wants to sneak a peek at a person’s social and business reputation, the company’s web site employs a searchable database of RepReports that allows the public to post and view information regarding the personal reputations of themselves and others. The RepScore rating is then transformed into a numeric indicator of overall reputation.

RepCheck is also used for dating and marriage purposes.

“The site is not intended as a slander board,” said Maltin. “The intent is to provide a TRW of reputations.”
