Looking to give IT managers an inside view of outsourced applications, RightNow Technologies, a Bozeman, Mont.-based ASP that specializes in customer service and support, today announced Hosting Management System 2.0. The browser-based dashboard is designed to give its customers greater visibility and control in the use and performance of their hosted applications.

“RightNow Hosting Management System 2.0 further enhances the value of hosted applications by making it as easy to monitor and upgrade as in-house applications,” Sean Forbes, vice president of marketing and business development at RightNow, said. “Other software vendors pull a Frankenstein switch and automatically upgrade their customers, and this breaks customizations and integrations.”

To help users better project future provisioning needs, RightNow reports its Hosting Management System 2.0 gives customers access to a range of application statistics, including page turns and page-load times.

Hosting Management System 2.0 also offers the capability to set up test or pilot servers for upgrades of RightNow applications, and then schedule an automatic upgrade of their hosted production servers.

The new version of the management system is part of RightNow’s Hosting 2.0 application hosting platform, which the company announced yesterday. The new multi-tenant software also includes business intelligence designed to uncover and exploit critical information to maximize customers’ service and support operations as well as fixed-scope integration services designed to add multi-channel service fixed cost.
