Oct 28, 1998

SBC Internet Services
Wednesday partnered with portal site Snap in
an agreement that will give SBC’s users customized search functions and
local information.

Under the agreement, SBC’s Internet start pages will now feature Snap’s
portal service. Snap will also feature local information for areas served
by SBC, whose territory includes the Midwest and Southwest.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed. Snap is a unit of CNET Inc.

“Our new start pages organize the resources of the World Wide Web into
easy-to-use categories that enable new and experienced Internet users alike
to find what they want and need,” said Steven Hubbard, SBC president and
chief executive officer. “By collaborating with a leading Internet
navigation and content aggregation company such as Snap, we are solidifying
the commitment to our 340,000 customers (to provide) best-in-class service
and award-winning support.”
