In a strategic partnership announced today, Critical Path Inc. , the San Francisco, Calif.-based provider of integrated messaging solutions, will integrate its CP Directory Server with the SiteMinder platform, provided by Netegrity Inc.
, the Waltham, Mass.-based provider of e-business security software.
Together, it is expected that the Netegrity SiteMinder platform and CP Directory Server solution meets will help meet the eBusiness demands of corporations and service providers.
According to Critical Path, the purpose of the agreement is to enable companies to consolidate the identities of employees, partners and customers into a secure, repository, as well as automatically create access rights across extranets, applications and databases.
The firm explains that the CP Directory Server scales to accommodate tens of millions of user profiles in a secure and environment and can provide SiteMinder with a distributed directory infrastructure to provide authentication, authorization and access control rights for customers, partners, suppliers and employees.

According to Critical Path, the CP Directory Server is a key component to the identity management layer of its Communication Platform, that provides organizations with a range of messaging, identity management and access services.
