Sniffer Technologies a division of Network Associates Friday says it has forged a strategic alliance with San Diego-based software developer eCritical.

The non-exclusive partnership essentially makes the eCritical E-platform an extension of the Sniffer product line. The Web-based console will incorporate eCritical’s adaptive infrastructure management technology to let customers have an end-to-end view of their Internet traffic.

“As the needs of enterprise IT and service providers continue to evolve with the growth of e-business, Sniffer Technologies is enthusiastic to build its relationship with eCritical to deliver complete, high-quality Internet performance management solutions that address these customer needs,” says Sniffer Vice President of Business Development Tina Stewart.

Enterprises and service providers use the Sniffer Total Network Visibility (TNV) suite to monitor troubleshooting, reporting, and proactively managing network availability and performance. The platform covers Web sites, Internet applications, converged voice, video, and data networks, and high speed switched and optical networks.

“The Sniffer Technologies’ brand and approach is well known and accepted as the de-facto industry standard for monitoring LAN & WAN performance, and we are excited at this opportunity to work with Sniffer Technologies to potentially further extend the availability and benefits of our E-platform products to Sniffer Pulse customers,” says eCritical CEO Bob Brown.
