Storage Computer, of Nashua, N.H., has filed a second patent infringement lawsuit against rival
Veritas Software, of Mountain View, Calif.

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, alleges that Veritas violated Storage Computer’s patent for “Data Storage System with
Asynchronous Host Operating System Communication Link.”

Storage Computer seeks injunctive relief, damages and legal costs arising from the alleged infringement.

In October, Storage Computer filed a similar action, this claiming an intellectual property violation of its “Apparatus and Method for Storing Data with Selectable
Data Protection Using Mirroring and Selectable Parity Inhibition” patent.

Shares of SOS rose 0.1, or 1 percent to 6.35. The action did not drag down VRTS, which was up 1.789, or nearly 5 percent, to 37.989.
