Systinet Helps ISVs Adopt Web Services

In a move designed to help independent software vendors (ISVs) Web-services-enable their applications, Systinet today announced WASP 4.5 OEM Edition.

According to the Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of Web services infrastructure software, Systinet WASP 4.5 OEM Edition’s features are customized to meet the specific needs of ISVs by offering the following:

  • a single solution for Java and C/C++
  • interoperability with Microsoft .NET, Apache AXIS and Java servers
  • capabilities for embedding Web services into existing Java and C++ applications
  • security features and performance that surpasses other open source and commercial offerings on the market.

Systinet also announced today a Web services OEM Partner Program, which is designed to help ISVs bring their Web services-enabled products to market.

“As the Web services market continues to mature, demand among software vendors to Web services-enable their applications is growing dramatically,” said Roman Stanek, founder and CEO, Systinet. “Our new OEM Partner Program is designed to make the adoption process simple and cost-effective and caters to a broad range of ISVs, from small, single product start-ups to large companies with multiple product families.”

Systinet’s multi-tiered OEM Partner Program is designed to provide technical support, licensing options and co-marketing opportunities, according to the company. The program’s goal is to make it easy to evaluate, integrate, test and deploy Web services functionality in a short time and with minimal resources. Systinet reports that clients are able to Web-service enable their products quickly, while it assumes the burden of ensuring ongoing support for the latest industry standards.

A dozen companies have already signed up for the program, according to Systinet, including Retail Decisions, Interwoven, Primus, and Mercator.

“Since we want to remain focused on our core business, attempting to develop Web services in-house would have been a drain on our resources,” said Carl Clump, CEO of Retail Decisions, a company that provides payment-card fraud prevention and transaction services.

Retail Decisions’ LiveProcessor is designed to integrate real-time and batch authorization and settlement services for online, call center, retail and IVR transactions into a single system. Its clients include Buy.com, Netflix, Nextel, RealNetworks, Research In Motion, ShopNBC, Tupperware and Unicity.

“Last year Retail Decisions processed over 1 billion card transactions. Web services is a powerful mechanism for connecting partners, clients and point-of-sale in an open, standards-based way,” said Systinet’s Stanek.
