USi Expands BPO Services

Enterprise ASP USi and benefits outsourcing specialist SHPS jointly announced Wednesday a new alliance under which USi will expand its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services for Human Capital Management (HCM) through the addition of new outsourced services for Benefits Administration offered by SHPS.

By combining this new offering with USi’s existing BPO services for Managed Payroll and Payroll Tax Administration, USi’s clients can enjoy the cost benefits of outsourcing delivered by best-in-class providers with complete integration that enables client service and full accountability. Clients will be able to streamline their HR processes and eliminate time-consuming tasks that are both inefficient and non-strategic to their businesses.

“Many of our clients run the PeopleSoft Benefits Administration module because they like the rich functionality the application affords, and they appreciate having one database-of-record running their entire HR processing,” said Bret Hunter, General Manager, ERP Product Area. “Now, with USi and SHPS, they can continue to leverage that functionality, while someone else handles all the tasks that traditional application management and benefits administration require.”

USi will now be able to offer clients a solution that spans the benefits lifecycle from benefits enrollment to financial settlement, including full integration of an organization’s Human Capital Management and Financial Management systems.

USi’s clients can use SHPS’ pre-built interfaces with over 1,700 healthcare providers to streamline the reporting of employee and dependent eligibility data, billing, and payment processes while maintaining day-to-day administration within their current PeopleSoft environment.

This approach allows clients to continue using existing resources to administer employee-facing activities while taking advantage of SHPS’ ability to more efficiently manage back-office operations. This is similar to the flexibility offered by USi’s outsourced application management services in which clients can choose between utilizing their existing infrastructure to host an application or relying upon USi’s state-of-the-art data center to do so.

“We’re excited about this alliance because it allows our clients to take advantage of the benefits of an HR outsourcing model without having to turn over the entire HR department to another organization,” Hunter said.

USi’s expanded Business Process Outsourcing services were developed in response to increasing industry-wide demand. According to a July 2003 report from Gartner on the HR Business Process Outsourcing Market, “One of the key findings of 2002 and early 2003 is the demand for aggregated HR outsourcing services is becoming more mainstream — the aggregation of multiple HR processes into one outsourcing contract (for instance payroll, benefits and HR records management).”

USi delivers enterprise and e-commerce software as a service. The company’s portfolio of service offerings delivers the functionality of leading software from Ariba, BroadVision, Microsoft, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Siebel as a continuously supported, flat-rate monthly service via an advanced, secure global data center network.

USi’s AppHost managed application hosting services provide the most advanced solutions for enterprises, software companies, marketplaces, public sector clients and system integrators that are seeking a better way to deliver solutions over the internet to their customers and end users.
