It’s been [reported](http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93194932) that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., would appoint a technology czar to keep the government current with tech.

Meanwhile, Sen. John McCain, R.-Ariz., [hasn’t announced](http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93201264) anything similar, but perhaps both candidates should stir up more talk of tech and innovation on the campaign trail?

Isn’t that what change is? Innovation?
