Motorola Shows Off Enhanced ‘Droid X’

Big news for Verizon Wireless customers: A new Motorola Droid is slated to make its debut next month.


The new Droid X will be a follow-up to the popular Motorola Droid, already thought to be the bestselling Android device to date. But with the new Droid X, Motorola and Verizon Wireless are looking to one-up themselves: Sporting a slew of improvements, the upcoming release is being touted by both as a refined platform ideal for consuming media (including Flash) on the go. And at the same time, it’ll be a showcase for Android’s own enhancements ahead in version 2.2 of the Google-backed mobile OS. Enterprise Mobile Today takes a look.



Motorola and Verizon Wireless have announced their latest entrée into the ever-expanding smartphone market with Droid X, a device that should especially appeal to folks who like to watch TV shows, movies and play games on their mobile devices.


Though the Droid X won’t be available until July 15, Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and Verizon Wireless officials said it’ll be worth the wait. The Droid X features a 1Ghz processor, 4.3-inch display and, later this summer, a free update to Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android 2.2 operating system and Adobe Flash Player 10.1
