As mobile devices continue to expand in number and complexity within the enterprise, IT managers are charged with developing a mobile policy that protects its employees—and the company’s exposure to liability. Enterprise Mobile Today takes a closer look at how Visage Mobile’s free mobile policy template and why it might be a good first step.
Mobile IT administrators swamped with the daily challenges of mobile device management likely know that they should have a corporate mobile policy in place — and likely haven’t gotten around to drafting, finalizing and executing one.
Visage Mobile wants to help, as today the software management firm issued a free enterprise mobility policy template to help boost the adoption of corporate mobile guidelines.
The template, authored along with Philippe Winthrop, analyst at the global wireless unit of Strategy Analytics, builds on Visage Mobile’s experience helping hundreds of enterprises create policies to ensure employee safety, save money and prevent corporate liability, according to the company.
“With pervasive U.S. cell phone adoption, having a corporate mobile policy in place is becoming a ‘must have’ for businesses of all sizes and industries,” Bzur Haun, president of Visage Mobile, said in a statement.
“Inspired by Oprah’s ‘No Phone Zone’ campaign, we wanted to give businesses free access to a policy guidebook that covers all ends of the mobile world — from safety and devices to rate plans — making mobile policy adoption simpler.”
The corporate mobility policy guidebook is intended to equip the workforce with the most appropriate mobile devices, plans and applications needed to enhance productivity and performance.
