ELS, Inc. and Digi-Net Technologies this week announced the first public beta release of DigiChat, a client/server chat product designed specifically for Internet service providers (ISPs) and educational or corporate Webmasters.

Private beta testers testing DigiChat praised the text screening features of DigiChat’s ChatGuardian which blocks “inappropriate language.” Unlike other chat servers, DigiChat allows an unlimited number of concurrent users.

DigiChat is priced to sell according to the number of Web sites that are
hosted. The price for DigiChat starts at $495 for the Small Business
Edition, and for a limited time an introductory 25% discount is being
offered for all license options.

For more information, or if you are interested in trying DigiChat, a free
evaluation copy for Macintosh and Windows Web server installations may be
downloaded from the DigiChat Web site.
