FileMaker Inc. this week announced
the release of the worldwide, English version of FileMaker Pro 5 Unlimited.

This release of FileMaker Pro 5 will allow Web-based database publishing for
non-programming intranet and Internet developers.

FileMaker Pro 5 Unlimited offers two options for dynamicly publishing
databases to the Web: FileMaker Pro Web Companion and a new Java-based Web
Server Connector which facilitates improved performance, load balancing and
data security.

FileMaker Pro 5 Unlimited also provides two Web serving options to suit a
wide range of performance and security requirements. For intranet sites
with low traffic volume to FileMaker Pro Web enabled databases, FileMaker
Pro 5 Unlimited’s built-in Web Companion Web server provides the necessary
performance. For high-volume applications, FileMaker Pro 5 Unlimited is
able to leverage popular Web servers via the FileMaker Web Server Connector.

FileMaker Web Server Connector is a Java servlet that relays requests from
Web servers to one or more computers running FileMaker Pro 5 Unlimited. It can be integrated with most of the popular Web servers, including Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0, Microsoft Personal Web Server 4.0, Netscape Enterprise Server 3.62, Web Star 4.0, AppleShare IP 6.2, and
Apache Web server (built into Mac OS X Server). FileMaker Web Server
Connector enables users to leverage the security, performance and Secure Socket Layer features that are built in to the leading Web Server applications.
