Microsoft Corp. Wednesday announced a deal with online community Talk City to offer free home pages throughout its MSN network of sites.

Consumers will be given 12 megabytes of space and a set of easy-to-use tools to create home pages.

Rob Bennett, group product manager for Microsoft’s consumer and commerce group, said the addition demonstrates the company’s desire to increase its online communication tools.

“Personal home page popularity has skyrocketed in recent months and by teaming up with community specialist Talk City, we’re enabling families and friends — even if continents apart — to instantly create and enjoy their own personal corner of the Web,” he said.
