Information technology outsourcing company Computer Sciences Corporation has snagged a chunk of a government agency contract worth about $300 million, helping it increase its share of federal IT services contracts.
The National Security Agency awarded the El Segundo, Calif.-based company a five-year blanket purchase agreement for extensive IT services, the company said.
CSC is one of 16 other firms and 23 businesses designated for the contract, which is valued at about $300 million for CSC alone. CSC is expected to provide engineering, technical and management services in support of the NSA’s Information Technology Infrastructure Services (ITIS) program, both in its Washington D.C. location and throughout global sites.
The company said the services would include systems analysis, security engineering, hardware and software installation, maintenance and training, help desk support and systems administration. The deal includes the transfer of about 250 software engineers, architects, administrators, logisticians, technicians and support staff from CSC’s offices to perform the work on site at the NSAW and NSA locations worldwide.
In a related story, CSC also snagged a five-year deal with automotive glass repair company Belron worth about $57.9 million. The deal calls for CSC to manage infrastructure and applications that support some of Belron’s core programs and help manage its help desk.
CSC is in the process of acquiring fellow government-focused IT services firm DynCorp in a $950 million cash and debt deal.
