NetObjects Tuesday unveiled its Authoring Server Suite 2000 which represents its move to become the leader in development and maintenance applications for enterprise Web sites.
NetObjects (NETO) Authoring Server Suite 2000 combines collaboration, control,
rapid design, easy site administration and management.
The tool enables industry users to work more efficiently in a system that
was designed to promote teamwork, reduce marketing time and improve work
accuracy. Additionally, it offers information technology departments easy network support solutions.
“Intranets have emerged as the strategic tool for how departments
communicate across the enterprise,” said Morris Taradalsky, executive vice
president and general manager of NetObjects’ enterprise division.
“NetObjects is ensuring that today’s corporate intranets provide a critical
competitive advantage for companies in today’s global business environment.”
Features of NetObject’s Authoring Server Suite 2000 include instant
messaging, automated task scheduling, versioning, change control, site
histories, mirror publishing, cross site linking and increased control,
security and performance.
Due to its compatibility with Web content creation techniques such as
database integration, scripts, and graphics, the system enables Web
development teams to inter-operate with site contributors across the
enterprise.
According to a recent study from International Data
Corp., which found that more than half of larger U.S. organizations
had an intranet in place by the end of 1998.
The report also said one out of every four dollars spent on Web initiatives by U.S. companies was spent on intranets and two-thirds of those sites are
using team-based Web site building tools to accomplish corporate objectives.
