Internet and intranet security specialist NetVision
said Thursday it plans to integrate biometric voice verification from
Belgium’s
Keyware Technologies in forthcoming
versions of its MultiSecure network security product.
MultiSecure is a security frame for Web sites that integrates firewalls
and a variety of security and authentication systems. NetVision said the
inclusion of biometric verification will provide even more secure
e-commerce applications.
“The integration of biometrics into the MultiSecure software package as an
authentication tool will seriously increase the security of the system
because a person’s physical characteristics cannot be stolen or forgotten
and are difficult to tamper with,” said Francis Declercq, chairman and
chief executive officer of Keyware Technologies.
He said customers with ordinary multimedia PCs will be able to take
advantage of the increased authentication.
Products that include the voice verification will begin shipping next
month.
