Enterprise software company SAP AG Monday unveiled version 4.0 of its Knowledge Warehouse suite, previously known as InfoDB.
Knowledge Warehouse 4.0 is made to provide companies with a Web-enabled
information-gathering environment, rich content and powerful tools to create an intranet system for transferring knowledge and enhancing employee performance, the company said.
It is highly scalable, Web-enabled and fully integrated with SAP R/3 workflow processes and Microsoft Office applications. It also features content management, Web-enabled viewing and translation tools.
“Organizations are recognizing that knowledge has become as crucial a
productivity factor as raw materials, labor and capital,” said Gerhard Oswald,
SAP AG executive board member.
“Using SAP Knowledge Warehouse,
companies will be able to connect those who know with those who need to
know, making individual knowledge reusable. SAP is uniquely capable of
providing companies with a content-rich infrastructure and intuitive authoring
tools to create the knowledge they need to continuously improve productivity
and stay competitive.”
SAP Knowledge Warehouse is scheduled to be released in the third quarter.
