King bank Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. Monday chose Interwoven Inc.’s content
management standard for its global intranet.

Financial terms were not made public.

Designed to link 25,000 employees, the intranet, or SchWEB as its called,
will be monitored by Interwoven’s TeamSite software
to empower approximately 1,000 content contributors across all of Schwab’s
business units worldwide.

TeamSite is a content management software package that allows technical and
non-technical contributors to develop and test Web content prior to
publishing and, at the same time, enables centralized control through its
workflow capabilities.

It also allows global content contributors to contribute regional specific
content in local languages.

Schwab’s Vice President Anne Barr said the giant bank had already been
running TeamSite on a portion of its intranet. Barr said it was just logical
to extend it across the entire corporate network.

“Schwab is a culture-driven company, and an effective intranet nurtures that
culture and ensures our competitiveness by enabling our employees to better
serve our customers in the real time e-business environment,” Barr said.
