Access Co. Ltd. has made a free demonstration version of its NetFront browser for Linux-based embedded applications available to developers.
Access, a Japanese company, claims that NetFront owns 80 percent of the
embedded browser market in that country. The browser is used in devices such as handhelds, smart phones and video game consoles in Japan.
The company says it is making the free demo available in an effort to expand its presence into Europe and the U.S.
The demo is downloadable from the company’s Web site. The company says that, depending on feedback, it will release a full version in the second half of 2000.
