Alexa Internet Wednesday rolled out its free Web navigation service, Alexa for IE, which allows users to search the Web from any site and provides “inside information” on Web usage.
Optimized for use with Internet Explorer 5.0, Alexa for IE includes a navigation tool that enable users to conduct searches using HotBot, Yahoo! or AltaVista without leaving the site they’re currently on. Users choose a search service, list the keyword in the search box, and are connected to the results page.
The service also offers Alexa Insider’s Page, which lists facts and information on Web usage and charts daily top Web pages and portals based on Alexa traffic.
“We find that people are hungry for an authoritative voice on the Web,” said Brewster Kahle, president and chief executive officer of Alexa Internet. “By aggregating related Web information, we empower
users with important, trustworthy information that is difficult to find elsewhere on the Web.”
Alexa for IE also includes NewsReal’s IndustryWatch 3.0, which provides top business news and related information.
