Alive.com and Mitsui Comtek Tuesday announced that Mitsui Comtek will serve as
the marketing agent for Alive.com’s multimedia enabling technology during an
initial test market period in Japan.

The two companies will incorporate
Alive.com’s e-Show EngineT and e-Show WizardsT into upcoming portal and Web
projects that will be marketed and distributed in Japan by Mitsui Comtek.

Alive.com’s technology — the e-Show Engine and e-Show Wizards — powers Web
sites with multimedia creation and portal integration tools, enabling
visitors to easily create media-enhanced content via the Web. The technology
allows users to develop new media files and integrate their existing
multimedia files with Web applications such as greeting cards, business
listings, auction listings, photo albums, corporate communications.

“Media-enhanced Web applications clearly present a tremendous market
opportunity for growth in Japan,” said Patrick Steele, vice president of
product partnerships for Alive.com. “Mitsui Comtek’s technical and marketing
expertise complements Alive.com’s vision of continually simplifying the
creation and distribution of streaming media communication so that both
end-users and content partners can benefit from the power of media-enhanced
content.”

“Alive.com’s technology fits well with our expanding focus on Internet
technologies,” said Masaaki Miura, President and CEO of Mitsui Comtek. “This
strategic alliance will play a pivotal role as we work to enrich the Internet
experience of all users moving into the 21st century.”
