Amplidyne, Inc. has announced the creation of new set of wireless amplifiers and receiving equipment to
enable ISPs to offer high-speed wireless Internet access to their subscribers.

By utilizing a radio tower (ISP) and a roof top antenna (user) connected to the Amplidyne Access Point device, ISPs can offer up to 2Mbps Internet access within a 50 mile radius, the company said.

The equipment is compatible with IEEE 802.11 standards, and uses the license free 2.4 GHz band.
With a wireless connection, users can have an “always on” Internet access point that provides
bi-directional high speed communication without tying up the user’s phone lines.
