Investment capital fund manager Apex Partners has invested FF 22 million (US$3.6 million) in Medisite, a medical site dedicated to medical health professionals.

The investment came a few days after launching its redesigned site. Launched in April by specialized communications agency Epsilon Santé, Medisite is a vertical portal which provides health professionals with news and interactive programs. The site also includes an e-commerce shop which sells books and medicine.

The company recently formed
partnership with the ISP Freesbee allows Medisite to offer a new access
service. From now until March, about one million connection kits should
hit the market through the new alliance.

Medscape, the American reference site which made its IPO on the Nasdaq this year, is also controled by Apax Partners and seems to be a model for Medisite.
