Arabian community Web site Arabia.On.Line announced a
partnership with American security company Argus Systems Group and German software firm Netlife Internet Consulting und Software GmbH to provide Internet banking solutions.
The joint service brings Internet and intranet secure transactional
capability for banks, financial institutions and enterprises in the Middle
East.
Arabia.On.Line will combine its experience in Arabic and English Internet
publishing services for media, corporate business marketing and commerce on
the Internet with Argus Systems’ experience in high-end security
implementations and Netlife’s software solutions.
Financial institutions employing the service can offer customers access to
account information and financial data, as well as perform financial
transactions over the Internet or an Intranet. Arabia.On.Line currently serves an estimated 1 million users worldwide who look for news about the Arab world and the Middle East.
“Our joint banking solution will open new gateways to business in the
region, while helping tie in with our Middle East-wide Internet awareness
and development strategy,” said Khaldoon Tabaza, Arabia.On.Line’s managing director.
The company’s long-term goal is to create a multi-disciplinary service that
combines media, online communities, and electronic commerce.
The three companies held a seminar earlier this month during Gitex’98 to
help Middle Eastern businesses come to grips with Internet banking.
