Apr 23, 2002

America Online, Inc.’s Instant Messenger (AIM) and e-mail service is now available for subscribers of AT&T Wireless’ new mMode. With wireless access to AOL mail, members have the ability to retrieve and respond to e-mail from their mMode capable phone. In addition, AOL members can use their mMode phone to access information found in their AOL address book.

mMode customers can access their AOL Buddy List feature and “chat” with family and friends by typing short text messages on their wireless phones. mMode is available in all AT&T Wireless GSM/GPRS markets.

“We’re very pleased to add access to AOL Mail and the AOL Instant Messenger service to our broadening portfolio of mMode services,” said Andy Willet, vice president of consumer data offers for AT&T Wireless. “America Online provides a simple, easy-to-use way for our customers to stay in touch while on the go.”
