beenz.com Launches in Sweden

Online currency firm beenz.com inc. extended its reach farther across the globe with the launch of a site in Sweden.

On Friday the company launched www.beenz.se to expose Swedish consumers, which have a large online presence, to the e-commerce firm. The company already operates in the U.S. France, the U.K., Canada, France, Australia, Hong Kong, Italy and Singapore.

Internet service provider Liberty Surf has signed on as a beenz.com partner, and will provide its customers with promotional beenz currency for registering with the site and downloading services. Terms of the alliance were not disclosed. MTV, DVDon, joy4life, gamerson, Topjobs, and CDon will also team up with beenz to offer the currency.

According to a recent study by BMRB International, it’s Sweden that dominates overall Internet usage in Europe. More than half of the Swedish population has used the Internet, with a large percentage of users shopping online. Movement into Sweden represents a good opportunity for beenz, according to Philip Letts, chairman and
CEO of beenz.com.

“We are elated that we are able to launch our Swedish website with such a
highly respected company as Liberty Surf,” said Letts. “We look forward to a long and successful relationship.”

beenz is a universal Web currency that consumers earn by visiting, interacting with, or shopping at participating Web sites. Consumers can spend their beenz on participating partners to buy items including DVDs, sporting goods, vacations, books, downloadable music, clothing, and gift certificates. The company currently boasts more than one million consumers earning and spending beenz.
